Big thanks to Martin and JB for joining us for a foray into the remaining snow on Helvellyn today. From afar, it looks pretty slim, but what does remain is ideal for an intro to crampons and using an ice axe, and we certainly made the most of the opportunity.
The gents enjoyed their ascent up the side of Swirral Edge, using the various techniques we spoke about on the easier patches of snow below. We got to the top of Helvellyn and then descended Swirral Edge, followed by a social amble back towards Glenridding.
