Day 1: Moel Siabod Cafe, Capel Curig Day 2: Tryfan Car Park, Ogwen Valley
If you're looking for two days of fun, adventure and knowledge building then this is the course for you. Our two day mountain skills course will aim to help make you a more rounded hillwalker and does so by spending pretty much the entire course actually out on the hill!
Over the duration of the course you can expect to cover:
Navigation Training - Map & Compass Work, Route Planning, Escape Options
Introduction to GPS - Benefits and drawbacks
Personal Walking Skills - Movement Skills, Route Finding, Scrambling Skills
The Weather - Forecasts, reading the weather
Emergency Procedures - What to do when it all goes wrong

Day 1 will generally be spent focusing on improving navigation skills. Whether you've not really had any contact time with a map at all or have some skills you'll be certain to learn something during this day.
Day 2 will involve some scrambling on the fantastic Tryfan (weather permitting). Here we will be able to focus on moving through rugged terrain safely and also how to think about protecting your fellow group members if required by using various 'spotting' techniques. More navigation consolidation will also occur on day 2. Each day will last in the region of 6 hours.
