Scrambling in Buttermere

The western face of Grasmoor is broken by a forked gully known as Lorton Gully. This deep cut groove offers an interesting trip into the heart of this soaring face and not only provides some amazing scrambling but ace views too. Sometimes on the route you feel having Alan Titchmarsh along would be beneficial, but the early jungle like nature of the lower section just adds to the experience. This route is best enjoyed after prolonged dry weather and caution to loose rock should be applied in the upper section. A worthy trip out for sure.
