Trek training

A great training day with Steve, Emily and Darren who are all coming to Everest Base Camp with is this October. With the winds forecast to be strong on the tops we opted for a route which would give us some distance on sheltered ground before heading up high. Our venue of choice was Skiddaw. From Keswick we climbed up past Latrigg and used the Cumbria Way track under Lonscale Fell all the way to Whitewater Dash. This is always a lovely part of the Lakes to visit and even more to right now as the heather is in full bloom. From there we hiked steeply up onto Bakestall and then onto a very windy summit of Skiddaw. We scuttled across the plateau quickly before descending down into Keswick once more. A total of 22km walked and 1000m climbed. #LivefortheNow
