It was a 'Double-hit' on Helvellyn yesterday. Ascending from the West were Lewis and Emma, under the guidance of LMG Carol. She said; 'Novice mountaineers, Emma and Lewis braved the elements and summited Helvellyn from Thirlmere, in somewhat atmospheric conditions of icy winds and rain. They both 'smashed it', especially Emma who had never ventured up a mountain before. On the forestry path back to the cars, she was dreaming of the 3-course meal later that evening to celebrate. It was a pleasure to spend the day with such optimistic people and genuine smiles at the blustery freezing summit kinda says it all!' Well done and thanks all! #LivefortheNow
