Just back from a brill second day with our mountain skills bunch.
The weather forecast was indicating high winds and drizzle all day, so our plan was to stick to the mid-level peaks and not venture too high.
Bessyboot is an ideal place to really test the nav skills. It's all off path and there are plenty of contours to get the head around. The group navigated well all day, finding the small tarns and features I asked them to locate. Pacing, bearings and contour interpretation was all required to make each leg a success.
Fortunately for us the weather was also not as poor as forecast - Win!
A huge thanks to all our course participants this weekend, it's been ace!
