One main element of the Mountain Leader Assessment is known as 'Security on Steep Ground'. This is all about how to look after your clients on steep ground, and if needs be, use a rope to get them up or down obstacles safely.
Anil is heading for his assessment and wanted a day refreshing the skills required for this part of the award. As he was staying on the West Coast we ventured into Wasdale and used Yewbarrow as our venue of choice. We had a great time playing with ropes, talking about group management and getting some easy scrambling done too.
